We maintain a shore-based email account
through Hotmail. How often we access it depends on the availability of local
internet shops. These are sometimes very slow with dial-up modems and occasionally
very expensive. One shop on Bora Bora (the only internet cafe on the
island) was charging US$22 per hour! We didn't want to contact anyone that
badly.
